Ekiti PDP Leaders Hold Solemn Assembly, Call For Unity

Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oye Local Government areas of Ekiti State have called for total unity and commitment among the party members, saying; “we must not allow personal ambitions, vendetta, unhealthy rivalries and political acrimonies to separate us.”

The leaders, who said they will continue to appreciate the contributions of former Governor of the State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose to the party as a leader both at the State and national level prayed that “he will tower above his political challenges and distractions from the All Progressive Congress led federal government.”

In the communique issued at the end of the meeting held at the party secretariat in Oye Ekiti on Tuesday, which was signed by the Local Government Acting Party Chairman, Ogundele Dare, the leaders said they are “united, indivisible and strongly committed to the progress and success of the party under the able leadership of Hon. Micheal Ayodele.”

Oye Local Government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party held its Stakeholders’ meeting today, Tuesday, the 13th of August, 2019 at the PDP LG secretariat in Oye Ekiti.

The communique read in part; “That we all agreed to go back to our respective wards and work tirelessly for the party by initiating political meetings with continuous mobilisation for the success of the party in the next poll.

“That Oye Local Govt Chapter of the party commended the State Working Committee for their actions in sustaining the party at this difficult times.

“That we are hopeful and prayerful for the success of our dear Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at the Presidential Election petition tribunal.

“That we salute the courage of the National Working Committee in Leading the party towards the path of progress despite the shenanigans of the ruling party in creating chaos and pestilence in the land.

“That the local govt chapter of the party commended and support the active steps taken by the Local Govt Acting Chairman since assumption of office leading to the first Oye local govt leaders meeting in the last 2 years.”

Apart from the LG Party Exco members, Ward Chairmen, ward women leaders, ward youth leaders, 5 notable leaders per ward, councillors and Supervisors, some of the party leaders at the meeting were, former commissioner for commerce who is the Leader of the party in the local government, Hon Micheal Ayodele (Salindo); former member and Chairman, House committee on Information of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr. Samuel Omotoso; former Leader of the 5th Ekiti state House of Assembly and a member of the Board of Trustees of the party, Hon Tunji Akinyele; former Local Government Chairmen, Hon. Tayo Ogundare, Hon. Paul Oluwole and Hon. Adelabu.

Others were, Senatorial chairman of PDP and also a member of the State Working Committee, Hon Gbuyiro; the State Ex-Officio of the party, Hon Segun Ayeni; former Council Vice Chairman, Hon Segun Amuwagun; former member of the State Hospital Management Board, Hon Alaba Oguntade; former LG Party Chairman, Hon Ojo Ayeni; Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Local Council, Hon Agbaje Ladele and Hon. Goke Olatawura respectively.
